Blog 6 - Advisory Prep

Questions

1. What has worked well for you concerning senior project this year?  What has made it a positive experience for you?

2. What are you finding difficult concerning senior project?  How can you adapt to make that portion work better for you?  How might the senior team help?
Answers
  1. Nothing much has really worked for me. I have learned a lot about my topic, but I see no positive experiences that have come out of this project so far.
  2. The mentorship and the interviews are the thing that bothers me the most about senior project. Mostly with the working bibliography and senior project hours log. Most of them just seem unnecessary, but with the mentorship it's just challenging. The fact that you have to find a mentor, which is incredibly difficult on its own, just isn't possible for most.

Blog 1 – Senior Final Lesson/Interview Reflection

Questions

1.  What three lessons were most helpful for you to see, and why?
2. List one thing that you learned about the senior project in interviews that will help you get off to a good start?
3. What topic(s) are you considering, and why?
4. What EQ do you think might be interesting to consider in guiding a project like this? (Please don't worry about any sort of formula...we want this question to come from your genuine interest).
5. What are some ideas you have about finding summer mentorship?

  1. Personally I feel like none of the lessons were helpful to me. Why is because the presentations felt strict. Every presentation stated with a hook activity, then boring or interesting explanation of the topic and then the activity. It all just felt the same.
  2. One thing I learned from the seniors was that senior year is horrible, just horrible. Also that their are 4 interviews and 80 sources.
  3. The topic I was planning on doing was game design. Why is because I play video games a lot, so I decided why not.
  4. As a matter of fact I already have an EQ. The EQ is "What aspect of video games makes them a popular form of media?"
  5. I so far have no ideas on finding a mentor over the summer.
